Greetings All,
i am looking over the list of workshops being held on Sunday. i am not seeing what kind of format the workshops will presented in. for instance, is each workshop the entire day? are they presented one after another? will they be 1/2 day with some in the morning and some in the afternoon?
there are a number of workshops i'd like to attend and i'd like to see how that works out schedule wise....
thanks Dave Anders
Hi Dave (and list),
Speaking for my SMD soldering workshop, I have not yet figured out the best way to run it yet as there is shared equipment and participants will probably have differing paces in populating their boards etc. It's certainly not a full day exercise so I was thinking perhaps it could be a free-running session (until we run out of practice kits) throughout the day but this of course doesn't play that well with other workshops which may be more structured.
I am planning on fleshing this out more this weekend and will have a chat with Andrew before announcing more details.
Best, Omer.

Actually thinking about this a bit more, it would be useful to hear from fellow workshop organisers about their plans so we can perhaps coordinate around sessions?

Hi all,
Just finalising the details on the SMD workshop. I'll run two sessions on Sunday, a morning and an afternoon one. There will be a lot of sharing of equipment and as long as there is an understanding that you may have to wait your turn to have a go at a station, we can probably accomodate up to 10 people per session (I am bringing ~25 practice kits). It's the first time I am running a session like this so there will be a lot of figuring things out on the day :-)
No pre-registration needed, find me on Sunday and I'll put your name down on the list.
It's a free workshop to attend, donations to EFF or another charity of your choice encouraged if you feel like it.
Cheers, Omer.
