Hi all
I've been asked if I can find someone who can provide design input for a product prototype. Project concept has been described to me as follows:
a wearable tech device involving tracking and collecting motion data (probably using a gyroscope and accelerometer) and transmit it back to a mobile device wirelessly.
Please feel free to ask questions and I'll try and get more detail if I can, or contact me off list to express an interest in being intro'd to the project owner.
Thanks
Chris
Hi there,
That sounds similar to a project I worked on with the BBC this year, using HC05 and HC06 bluetooth modules combined with an Arduino-compatible circuit, and prototyped alongside an Android app for the front-end and uplink... http://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/blog/2013/06/radiotag-fob-human-scale-connected-obje...
Might well be worth me having a chat with the project owner, even if just to help them orient and specify their needs for a different developer, given we've been around the block a bit on this kind of design. It's gone a way beyond what is reported on the BBC R&D blog, now.
Incidentally I also have a workshop full of 30each of I2C accelerometers, gyroscopes, Compasses and 10dof modules combining all three. These could well be handy for prototyping.

Hi Chris
I can highly recommend the Gecko http://www.energymicro.com/ series of microcontrollers from Energy Micro (now Silicon Labs) I have been thoroughly impressed by their performance in situations like wearable, portable and energy efficient sensing.
Feel free to contact me if you want any help
regards Al
