Yes, those barrel connectors with yellow insulator usually have two wipers to touch the centre pin (whereas the default is that it touches the inside of the barrel along one side) and the socket for these found on laptops also has several wipers around the outside. I've seen plenty of laptop PSU sockets for sale as replacements on e-bay and one of those is probably best.
